i love to collect CDs from subway musicians and i have a slew of them. and while i was looking at the website of Theo Eastwind, who i particularly love, i found this link to a whole website of underground (literally) music. i was ecstatic now, i can find that kick ass drumming group that hangs out on the the L platform at Union Square or the 3 young black girls who play guitar and sing
last year i won a CD at a party in Atlanta because i knew some random music trivia that no one else knew i was expecting it to be wretched Kevin Devine hes a MESS and i love it
i have a soft spot for acoustic guitar players my father is a pro and has been playing since he was 11. I grew up listening to him tune his guitar so i can hear if something is even slightly off key. i never had the patience to learn. He tried to teach me from the time i was 7 or something. I guess he thought i had it in me to be a musician since i was singing before i could talk. he is a HORRIBLE teacher or at least for a kid in the advanced stages of ADD. he would teach me one chord and would not teach me another one until i mastered that one good lord that is worse than learning trigonometry i gave up before i got the first chord but have been singing in the car since i can remember.
**in the spirit of full disclosure, I met Eric at a photoshoot that Liz was doing for Genre. I saw him perform the night before at the Bitter End and had an insta-crush. He mentions the shoot, and the BBQ dinner we had on the floor of the office after the shoot in his blog which turned insta-crush to love. he is extra cute.
