because she would never tell me
and when she says
"i miss her"
i understand
i know how it feels

or,
i think i do

no one ever understood.
they thought it meant i was still in love
and when i said
"no i just miss my best friend"
"i miss the person who knows me better than anyone else in the world"
"i miss not having to say anything"
"i miss just being able to look at someone and have them get it"
"i miss the history"
but what i never said,
because i didn't know
was
"i miss the myth"
