i was lucky enough to have been invited to see kiki and herb last night at carnegie hall.
it was the very last night that they will perform together
at least for now...
i had not ever seen them.
THAT made me sad after last night.

everyone i know....
"kiki and herb this. kiki and herb that."

i never got around to it.
so last night i got around to it in a really big way.
at carnegie hall
on the floor
15th row
it was packed
we were a little late
because?
that is what we do
and?
because everytime we say, "ah WHATEVER...im going out in what i wore all day" (a day that generally doesn't start, on average, until 1:30pm)
we end up obsessively glittering and finding the right pants.

"but", she said to me, "its the gays. the gays are ALWAYS late. This show is not going to start on time"
and sure enough
8:05pm
all the gays
standing around outside chatting each other up.
the usher looks at our tickets and points us to the 4th row
SCORE!!!
we were all excited
we didn't buy the tickets
so we sit behind a few other bloggers who i know
but for some reason felt weird going up to say hi
and the show starts
it didn't matter that half the audience was still outside cruising.
so they start filtering in after the show starts
when we are accosted by 2 gays who say we are in their seats
apparently, the usher didn't know a "D" from and "O"
(in our defense, the "O" and the "D" looked almost identical on the tickets-thats where you hope the usher knows better than you)
so
in a demonstration of unparalleled embarrassment, we had to get up from the MIDDLE of the row
s'cuse me, pardon me. s'cuse me pardon me.
and go back to our proper seats.
the other one wanting to find the usher and have a little "chat" about the alphabet.

i laughed and at some points my hair stood on end.
kiki singing kate bush was amazing

the after party provided a few yummy cosmos and some great pics.
im waiting for some more to come in and i will post some.
