Yesterday morning was eerily quiet.
it reminded me of the days right after 9/11
there were no cars on the street, times square was completely blocked off and people were walking in the street.
the only difference was that you could hear airplanes.
which made it a little creepier.
we did not need this.
we did not need this convention
the closing of the streets
the code orange terror alert
the bomb sniffing dogs
more national guard.
none of it
people are still tired and plain old worn out
and the republicans (our lovely mayor included) thought it a good idea to put just a little more stress on a city that is still recovering from one of the worst disasters this country has seen in its history.
though
a bigger disaster is that someone is allowing the rest of the country to think that Rudy Giuliani is a good guy.
i fear for the future of our country if he is thinking about running for president.
can anyone say Mussolini?
Dubya isn't smart enough to create a fascist state and the people around him are too greedy.
Giuliani,
he likes it.
He would be Holy Roman emperor Giuliani in NO time flat.
and?
no one knows it.
except NYC
even upstate they think hes the best.
for god sake
pataki would make a better president than rudy.
at least hes quiet
i have some beautiful pictures of the flag draped coffins from the protest.
that is my next installment.
but for now i have to go pretend to work so i can work from home for the rest of the week.
