well i thought it strangely noteworth to post this. (i promise i will stop the boredom by posting a funny story later).
jhhg brought up a good point in her comment about 'breakfast"

A. the first thing you are supposed to do with an abandoned dog is change its name.
Its like starting fresh. they get to have a name that is associated with better things than being in a shelter.
the dog dog has only been "jade" for as long as they have had her at foster care.
and i find this amazing. one woman had a dog that was called larry at the shelter and when they brought the dog home they changed it to Chandler (or something equally dumb).
so they went on for a year or so with this dog and one day they were having a discussion about someone that the woman worked with named larry. the minute she said "larry" the dog hightailed it out of the kitchen and hid under the bed.
they are smart bastards.
so she will be happier being called "breakfast" in a house where she doesn't have to live outside in a kennel.
