long week
new job
lots of time on planes and hotel rooms to think about this

QUEER PEOPLE NEED TO GO ON STRIKE.

Im serious.
Im not talking about taking up arms, im talking about getting your ass up from you chair at the job where you are deathly afraid of anyone finding out that you are queer because at lunch they sit around talking about 'that fucking faggot in the art department'
im talking about getting up from the chair at the job where they all know you are queer and they are all fine with it as long as you don't ask for partner benefits.

I am tired of hearing all this about "oh my!! hee hee they are thinking about giving us the same rights as other human beings!! Isn't that SWELL!?!?!?"
Fuck that.
I am tired of hearing it and quite frankly, im surprised that we are sitting around complacently, just waiting for the nice straight legislators to say that we have rights.
you are NOT going to be able to get married in Massachusetts or anywhere else unless there is a revolution.

"but...but...but i have to pay my bills."
A. there are far more economic and social ramifications for staying where you are.
B. the people in alabama in 1955 who decided that enough was enough and did NOT get on those busses, were poor. POOR. That meant no gyms. That meant no cocktails. No NOBU. They were just able to scrape by with their families. But they decided that it was worth the risk, and SOMEHOW they would make due because they knew that they were making no kind of life for their people by sitting around waiting for the nice white men to decide that they could be treated like human beings.

I wish that people were afraid of queer revolution like they are of Black revolution.
That would be rad.
