well....
right after 10:30 yesterday morning my computer was infecting with that lovely virus. that you will be reading about in the news for the next 4 days.
you would have thought the virus gave me rabies. and i have a newfound hatred for microsoft. i have spent more than a few hours defending the capitalist structure that allows microsoft to dominate the market. No one does it better....well i was wrong.
well partially.
no one else does it.
the service and supprt call in center sucks.
and i couldn't use the online service because the computer kept shutting down as soon as i turned it on.
apparently there was a big gaping hole in their update service. they KNEW about it and tried to 'patch' it last month. well interestingly, my operating system is registered with them and i received no e-mail or notice or anything about this flaw in the system.
thus, i am asked if i want to update (by that bastard little pop up box that drives me crazy) and i say "ah that is sort of nice that i can get all my updates to my system on line" and click the button that says "sure why don't you infect my computer with a ridiculous virus that will cause me to nearly kick my computer to death"
it might be ok today. i haven't had any issues thus far and i will be typing with my fingers crossed and then i will go get effing virus software.
