i was reading kiri this morning and she has solved my quandry.
i have been jonesing to be able to post from my phone because i always have time on the train and in the airport to write text messages and e-mails. and while audioblog is pretty cool, i still can not get over the fact that I don't understand my voice. that is to say that i hear my voice when it is coming from my body and it makes sense but when i hear it recorded i feel like i am dead and listening to it from the netherworld (and i DO mean 'nether'). aside from that i write like i speak so it wouldn't be much different except for that you would get to hear the voice of the dead.
Now, in order to send posts via e-mail i think i have to change formats. I might have to do a redesign and switch over to Moveable type.
oh boy is this going to be fun.
i was starting to get antsy for a bit of a facelift anyway.
So if anyone wants to offer their helpful hands, i am SURE that we could figure out some sort of barter.
(oh i just thought of something...DAN, what happened to the pillows I was making for you? I need you to cut some thread from that couch!! and i bet you could use a DUVET!!!)
and....the good news is (and god do i hate putting this up before i have it in writing, but here goes...)
no more commuting.
I was getting tired of interviewing for companies that couldn't afford me and what was worse, I wouldn't have liked the jobs as much as i like mine. So i turned down the last job that was offered to me and with that decided that that my original plan "K" was going to get moved to be plan "A".
Seeing if I could get my VP to let me work from Atlanta. So i put together this proposal that has been about 2 months in the making and presented it to her last Friday.
She went for it.
So it looks like by the second week of August I will have all of my office shipped to Atlanta and i will be working from the extra sunny second floor, second bedroom/studio of my house. Which, by the way is MUCH bigger than my studio at work.
having lunch with my dog and my girl, rock climbing on Thursday evenings at the wall by my house, cooking dinner, going out for cocktails, leaving all the kitchen cabinet doors (but not the drawers) open and generally driving the girl crazy.
This plan puts me in NY 6-8 days a month.
Which is perfect.
